The Calgary Parking Authority has been awarded the 2009 Institute of Transportation Engineers (ITE) Best Practices Award for its ParkPlus System that uses autoChalk for LPR and enforcement.
Presented yearly, this award is bestowed on a project that applies innovative techniques to a parking issue or problem, in this case an innovative pay by plate/pay be cell-phone parking system.
Based in Washington, D.C., the ITE is an international educational and scientific association of transportation professionals who are responsible for meeting mobility and safety needs. ITE facilitates the application of technology and scientific principles for any mode of transportation. Founded in 1930, ITE has nearly 17,000 members working in more than 92 countries.
